ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY RECEIVES DONATION TO ESTABLISH RESIDENT MEMORIAL

Northridge Pines Assisted Living, a division of Keweenaw Memorial Medical Center, recently established the “Memory Tree”, a copper tree that consists of over 200 gold, silver and brass plates in the shape of a leaf that will be remembrances for those residents who shared their lives at Northridge Pines.  “I have seen various forms of these copper trees in the UP and thought how nice it would be to have our very own”, says Linette Butkonen, facility director.  The tree, which is located on the activity room wall, was donated by Eileen Niva and Mary Murphy and was made by Copperland in Lake Linden.
