Deborah Gruver, FNP
Diabetic Education Clinic

The diabetic clinic at the Lake Linden Clinic was started in July of 2006 with the arrival of Deborah Gruver, FNP.  The diabetic clinic’s goals were to assist physicians in caring for their patient’s utilizing a Nurse Practitioner who specializes in diabetic care.  With their visit, patients were able to have longer visits that focused on their needs, improved their sugar averages, and provided a twenty-four hour contact person for concerns or questions.  All visits to the clinic are billed under the patient’s medical insurance.

Since it's inception, Deborah has been working closely with patient’s to regulate blood pressure, improve blood sugars by either starting new medications, adjusting existing medications, weight loss, carbohydrate counting, exercise plans, providing supplies, medications, and resources when needed.  The patients work very closely with Deborah to develop a plan of care to improve their diabetes and decrease secondary complications from diabetes.  This close collaboration has significantly improved patient’s sugar control and positive outlook on their disease process.
